End-User Agent Requirements

The HuLoop Discovery Agent must be installed on each end-user desktop to collect process and productivity data. This section provides minimum and recommended specifications for desktops, along with system compatibility and network requirements.

Desktop Hardware Specifications

RequirementMinimumRecommended

Port AccessMust allow HTTPS (port 443) access to the IPD Server
BandwidthMinimum 10 Mbps (per device), higher for real-time data
Network ReliabilityStable, continuous internet or intranet connection
Proxy SettingsNo proxy used for localhost-to-localhost communication
Note: In this guide, you’ll see references to folders and executables labeled KYP (e.g., kyp-client, KypClient.exe). KYP stands for Know Your Processes — HuLoop’s internal naming convention for its desktop activity and productivity capture components.

Antivirus Exclusions

To ensure smooth performance and avoid conflicts, configure antivirus software to exclude:

  • C:Program Fileskyp-client
  • C:Users{Username}AppDataRoamingKypClient
  • C:UsersPublicKypCache
Important: Failing to exclude these folders may block agent processes or cause incomplete data capture.

Average Agent Load (per desktop)

ResourceUsage Estimate
RAM~700 MB
CPU~2% (may vary slightly based on activity)
Data Upload2–5 MB per hour (structured data), up to 10 MB with images
Data Download~5 KB–10 MB (mostly config updates; once per setup)
Note: Actual load depends on user activity level and system configuration (e.g., screenshot capture settings, monitored applications).
